Anne DeLaney, MSW

Chair

My path to becoming Chair of the International Advisory Board is closely intertwined with my professional journey. I am a licensed clinical social worker, ‘retired’ partner of DeLaney Psychotherapy, and have, for over twenty six years, provided grief-counseling services to individuals and families in northern New Jersey. I am the co-founder of OneGift, the nation’s first wish fulfillment program for adults with cancer. Since its formation in 1988, over 3500 wishes have been granted ranging from once in a lifetime vacations to family reunions. OneGift was created with the goal to bring hope, solace, and joy to cancer patients and their families during their most anxious and difficult times.

Over the last several years, I have been active with the Global Literacy Project (GLP), an organization that fosters community-based literacy initiatives throughout Africa, South Asia, and the Caribbean. Alongside my family, I have organized seven annual trips with the founders of GLP and other volunteers to promote literacy in rural communities outside Johannesburg, South Africa. Together, we have built libraries, remodeled classrooms, conducted teacher training programs, distributed books, and organized partnerships between New Jersey and South African schools. To this day, I continue to organize book drives and fundraising efforts for GLP with plans to return to South Africa.

I have also served as a trustee of The Pingry School, Morristown Medical Health Foundation, and Homeless Solutions. I received my BA from Connecticut College and my MSW from NYU School of Social Work. Currently, I reside in London, England and Mendham, New Jersey with my husband, Chip Carver. Together we have two daughters, Emma and Chloe, and twin sons, Sean and Reeve.
